Martial Arts Strength Training Workshop in Queen Anne, Seattle!

● Punch and kick faster and harder than you thought possible!
● Put explosive power into your throws and takedowns!
● Develop lightning quickness and agility!

Topics to be covered:

Building a Base: Before commencing more intense training, static and dynamic balance; joint strength & stability are important (and often neglected) prerequisites.

Maximizing Strength: Maximal strength is a prerequisite for power (power = force x velocity).  In fact, gains in power come 95% from gains in maximum strength, and only 5% from speed, and maximal strength training can even enhance endurance.

Developing Explosive Speed & Power: Power is the ability of the neuromuscular system to produce the greatest amount of force in the shortest amount of time, muscle force multiplied by the velocity of movement.

Program Design: Learn the criteria and variables to consider when designing your own strength training program.

Seminars & Short-term Engagements:
"Mark’s inter-active, well-structured seminar at Cypress Semiconductor covered most critical aspects of strength training, and got very high marks, several of the participants following up with 1:1 sessions.  I am impressed by Mark’s depth of knowledge on the subjects of strength and conditioning and their application to combat sports.  I recommend Mark's seminars or 1:1 consulting on strength & conditioning without reservation."

"As an owner of a health oriented business, everyone else is MY priority. I do everything to give them the guidance and tools they need to be their best. In this position, sometimes, the last person we take care of is ourselves. Having heard of Mark from one of my students, I invited him here for a short-term engagement last fall.  During our month of training together I was struck by how practical and no-nonsense Mark’s approach to strength training was.

Not only did I learn a great deal about how to properly apply weight training to martial arts, but I also learned a great deal about nutrition and meal preparation from Mark, painlessly losing about 15 pounds in that single month, and the combination of weights and proper diet that has made a lasting change. I enthusiastically recommend Mark’s services to anyone wishing to lose weight, improve athletic performance or just look and feel better."
